School Fundraiser candy sales are one of the oldest and most proven ways for schools to make money. In fact it is one of the most common Fundraising Ideas out there.
The school simply chooses its favorite type of candy. They purchase that candy in cases. Most cases of fundraising candy comes with four handled carriers of candy. You can choose from many different national brands or some other fundraising specific candy lines.
Typically each seller will sell one or two carriers of candy. That means you should purchase between 1 to 2 cases of candy for every four sellers. A lot of people misunderstand when what they are buying when they hold a Candy fundraiser. The ask for the number of carriers they want but they call them cases and sometimes order 2 to 4 times the candy they really wanted. So when you order your fundraising candy make sure you understand how much candy you are getting.
School fundraiser candy sales require the least amount of administration. Unlike pre sell Brochure fundraisers like a Cookie Dough fundraiser or a Flower Bulb fundraiser you do not have a lot of paperwork to collect and you do not have to get everyone back together at a later date to hand out product to deliver. That means no sorting.
When you start your Candy fundraiser you give each seller the number of carriers they either committed to sell or you determined they need to sell and get them to turn in the money they raise one week later.
Some sports leagues and school groups require their members or students to participate and purchase the carriers of candy in advance. That way they can sell the candy and make their money back or they can own the candy.
Either way Candy fundraisers for schools have been a staple in fundraising and should be considered when planning how to raise money for your school.
